“If Man Utd play like that against Arsenal, Arsenal will 100% win” – Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp stepped up to the podium in the press room following the intense 2-2 draw at Old Trafford and didn’t mince his words when assessing the performance of their rivals. Klopp, renowned for his candidness, firmly believed that if Manchester United continued to perform as they did against Liverpool, Arsenal would emerge victorious in their upcoming Premier League showdown.

With Arsenal seizing the lead in the Premier League standings after convincing wins against Brighton (0-3) and Crystal Palace (2-4) for City, Liverpool’s draw against Manchester United (2-2) allowed the Gunners to snatch the top spot.

Expressing his frustration with his players during the tense moments when Manchester United briefly took the lead, Klopp addressed the implications of United’s performance against Arsenal on the final matchday of the Premier League season. He bluntly stated, “Arsenal is a good football team, and if [United] play like they did today, Arsenal will win that game, I’m 100% sure. I’m really sorry to say that, but this is a matter of fact. We should’ve won both games and didn’t. That’s our fault.”

Reflecting on the significance of leading in the crucial stages of the domestic championship, Klopp emphasized, “It’s very important. People will say we need to score more to improve our goal difference, but that doesn’t help. We have to be ourselves, and I’m fine with that. We were leading, now Arsenal are leading, and maybe it will be someone else between now and the end. Hopefully, it will be us. I’d like to have more points, but I’m happy with the boys because they’re the ones who put us in this situation.”
